MAKEUP STARTER KIT!

Hiii! Here's a post on how to build up your makeup collection! This is beneficial to everyone as it can help if your looking for new products to add to your collection or if your new to this whole makeup world and don't know where to start haha!

First of all I think it's best to start by making sure you have products to actually take off your makeup that your going to apply and be able to take care of your skin too! The products I personally use to take off my makeup is all Clinique products. I use the 'Take The Day Off Cleansing Milk' this removes all foundation and lipstick off of your skin but dont go near your eyes with this as it will nip so so much (I learned the hard way) another product i use from the 'Take The Day Off' range is the 'Makeup Remover For Lids, Lashes and Lips' this does what it says on the bottle it takes off any eye make up you have on its also great for taking off any gel or liquid eyeliner as sometimes it can be hard to get off. The face soap I use from the clinique range is the 'Liquid Facial Soap'this takes of any of the products that have been left on the face and leaves the skin feeling nice and fresh! Then I use the 'Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel' this leaves the skin feeling amazing and smooth! To start off your makeup collection you dont have to buy all of these products at once and remember to try some products from drugstore brands that could do the exact same job for  little bit cheaper!

Next is getting a good set of brushes that will help the way the makeup is applied! I would recommend the Real Techniques Brushes they are fab and such great quality these are found in Superdrug and Boots so are handy to get as well! They also do sets of brushes and also singular ones too, but if your starting out I would suggest for you to buy the 'Core Collection' and 'Eye Starter Kit' these sets have brushes that will apply your foundation, contour, and eye shadows! Also get yourself some spare brushes if you can like Superdrugs own make of brushes for a blush brush and some spare eye brushes so you can blend its much easier than having to keep cleaning your brush when using a different colour!

Onto makeup! Some people don't use primers when there first starting out as they dont really know what they do etc but I would urge you to buy one as it'll help keep your makeup matte and stay all day there is also primers that come with a slight colour in them that can blur out any imperfections before you even add your foundation! The primers I would recommend for you to try is the 'L'oreal infallible mattifying base primer' they do these in all different formulas some with a slight coverage in them and one thats just clear gel so get what one that would suit your skin the best. If your looking to buy from a higher end brand I would suggest for you to buy the Urban Decay 'All Nighter Setting Spray' this would be applied after your have applied all of your makeup where as the L'oreal primer would be put on before you have applied your makeup.

Onto foundation, you really want to start off your makeup collection with a good base and something that has a buildable coverage, I would recommend buying a liquid foundation but if you would prefer a light coverage use a pressed powder foundation from either MAC or use Bare Minerals Powder Foundation! I currently use 'L'oreal True Match Foundation' you can build this foundation up to a medium to full coverage and leaves a lovely finish to the skin! If your looking at buying from high end brands I would advise you to get 'MAC Studio Fix' I do use this as well if im going out to a special event like a wedding or party etc but I dont use it everyday as it is expensive to keep buying every so often!

Next on your list to get a setting powder to set your foundation and keep it shine free all day this is a must have because even if you do like that glowy kind of look its best to make sure your foundation is actually going to stay and then add highlight to the places you want to glow up! I would advise you to get either Rimmel Stay Matte Powder or if your looking to buy from a high end brand, MAC 'Mineralize Skin Finish Powder' the MAC powder comes in a highlight formula too so make sure if your buying that one to ask for the setting powder.

Onto Eyes! Again I would urge you to get a primer for these try the Collection 'Prime & Ready Illuminating & Reviving Eye Primer' or for a High End Brand product use the Urban Decay Primer Potion! Eye Primer keeps your eyeshadows in place all day and makes the stay put and not blend into each other making it all look one colour by the end of the day.

You also need a good set of eyeshadows! either a natural colour pallet or a pallet that has some smokey eye brown colours, if it has both thats a bonus! Try out Makeup Revolutions eyeshadow palletes they are great and they have a variety of different ones with different shades and finishes like shimmery, foiled and matte. Makeup Revolution is sold in Superdrug too!

Also get yourself some mascara! I personally love the 'Colossal Chaotic Lash Mascara' from Maybelline and I haven't really used any High End Branded mascaras because I love this one so much!

Personally I love adding a bit of eyeliner to my look but this is totally up to you! Even if your not confident enough to try doing 'cat eye flicks' just try lining your upper lash line with either a gel, liquid or kohl eyeliner! I love the Rimmel Exaggerate Liquid eyeliner and the Maybelline Gel Liner! I have been told that the Soap And Glory 'Super Cat Carbon Black Extreme Liner Pen' is great too!

You need to get yourself a contour pallete! Contouring is all the go just now making your cheekbones stand out and look jawlines look sharp! Rimmel have got a great pallet out just now that has a contour shade, blush shade and a highlighter which is great because then you wouldnt need to opt for a blusher or highlighter as everything you need for contouring is right there! this pallet is called 'Rimmel Kate Sculpting Highlighting Pallete'! High end contouring shades I would reccommend getting is from Nars in the shade 'Laguna' it's a bronzer but great for contouring and super blendable with the correct brush!

Last of the products you need to get is a lip pencil and some nice shades of lipsticks or glosses whatever you prefer! Having a lip pencil will make a barrier to your lipstick and it wont go over the top of it and go out of 'shape'. Then Lipstick pick your fave colour whether it be a bold red or a nice daytime nude colour! Lip pencils I would recommend getting is MAC's Lip liners they have a variety of shades to go with your lipsticks! But if your looking for a drugstore alternative try Rimmel for one, I have a few of these Rimmel ones and they are great! Lipsticks I would advise you to get if you are shopping High End is ones from MAC, again they are expensive they vary from £15-£20 but do a great job and do last a very long time! If your looking or a drugstore alternative I would recommend looking at Makeup Academy (MUA) or Makeup Revolution also try Rimmels lipsticks they are great too especially the Rimmel Kate ones too I love them alot!

Last if you need a makeup bag to keep all of your things together, have a look at Zoella's range in Superdrug! She has lovely makeup bags and there all in different sizes and have different designs on them too! Her range is in Superdrug and she is always adding new designs and products to her section!
